Dr. Jonathan Ringo M.D.

Jonathan Ringo, M.D. is the Chief Executive Officer of Verappo, a comprehensive healthcare services company with clinical services, telemedicine, chronic disease management, consulting, and healthcare startup advisory divisions. Prior to launching Verappo he served as the President of Sinai Hospital of Baltimore from 2017 to 2020. Sinai Hospital has over 500 beds and is the flagship member of the LifeBridge Health health system. It is the state of Maryland’s largest independent teaching and research hospital with tertiary services in trauma, advanced orthopedic, cardiovascular and neurosurgery, neonatal level III, and a full-service children’s hospital. During his tenure at Sinai, Dr. Ringo was responsible for significant financial, operational, and clinical programmatic improvement. He also served as Senior Vice President for LifeBridge Health where he was responsible for the LifeBridge Physician Enterprise, Value-Based Care programs, Research, and Graduate Medical Education. Dr. Ringo led the creation of the system’s international call centers in Israel and the Philippines and was responsible for the system’s move from fee-for-service to value-based care. He also led the LifeBridge ACO- The LifeBridge Health Value-Based Care Program is one of the most successful Accountable Care Organizations in the state of Maryland and nationally.

Dr. Ringo joined the organization in 2014, from Northwell Health System in New York, as the system’s first Chief Medical Information Officer and was also appointed as Vice President of Clinical Transformation leading the system in case management, population health, medical informatics, and ambulatory quality. Dr. Ringo has focused on closing the gap in the communities’ health disparities while developing centers of excellence, strengthening financial and quality improvement outcomes. While at Northwell Health, Dr. Ringo led the population health informatics group overseeing implementation of IT systems that supported Northwell’s value-based programs, which included the population health CareSolutions group and the CareConnect Insurance group.

Dr. Ringo is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, and during his tenure at LifeBridge practiced as a laborist at Sinai Hospital’s Labor and Delivery unit, as well as working at the medical practice of Sinai Community Care. He performed his residency at Sinai Hospital where he served as the administrative chief resident during his medical training.

Dr. Ringo has received numerous awards and recognitions in research and teaching, including the Excellence in Teaching Award from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine on multiple occasions, and was recognized on Becker’s Hospital Review’s List of Physician Leaders of Hospitals & Health Systems to Know in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Dr. Ringo chaired the Maryland Hospital Association’s Council on Legislative and Regulatory Policy and was a member of its executive committee.
